More Than Four Decades in Asphalt
Leonard started in the trade as a laborer. His father, Leonard Harrison Sr., taught him the work on job sites, one driveway and one parking lot at a time. Leonard Sr. had learned it the same way from his own father, Peter Harrison, who worked in the septic tank trade before he moved into paving. The family has stayed in the work ever since.
Uniform Paving & Sealcoating was established in 2006, and Leonard leads the company today. His two sons work alongside him and are the fourth generation of the Harrison family in the business.
The company paves and maintains asphalt for homeowners, businesses, homeowners associations, and golf facilities across Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama.
How Leonard Runs a Paving Job
Every project begins with a visit to the property. The existing surface, the base beneath it, the drainage, the slope, and the traffic the pavement must carry are all examined before a price is given. The customer then receives a written estimate based on the work the site requires.
Uniform Paving does not quote jobs over the phone, because the conditions that decide the cost cannot be judged from a description.
The company’s own crew completes the work. Mike Baldwin, the lead foreman, brings 38 years of field experience to the jobs he runs.
