Preparation: The first step in applying Permaflex® is to prepare the asphalt surface. This may involve cleaning the surface of any debris, repairing any cracks or damage, and ensuring that the surface is level and free from any irregularities. This step is essential to ensure that the Permaflex® is effective and that the resulting surface is smooth and even.

Mixing: The next step is to mix the Permaflex® polymer once the surface has been prepared. The amount of polymer that is added will depend on the specific requirements of the project and may vary depending on factors such as climate, traffic volume, and the overall condition of the road surface.

Application: After the polymer has been mixed , the next step is to apply the mixture to the surface of the road. This is typically done using a paver or other specialized equipment that ensures the mixture is spread evenly over the surface. Once the mixture has been applied, it may be compacted using rollers or other equipment to ensure that it is smooth and even.

Curing: Once the Permaflex® has been applied and compacted, it will need to cure for some time. The curing time will depend on various factors, including the temperature and humidity of the environment, as well as the specific properties of the Permaflex® polymer that was used. This makes the polymer bond with the asphalt, creating a robust and durable surface.

Adding Permaflex® is a highly effective way to create a more durable and flexible road surface. Adding a specialized polymer to the asphalt mixture makes it possible to increase the elasticity and resistance to cracking, which can help reduce the need for maintenance over time. Whether you are working on a new road construction project or looking to upgrade an existing surface, Permaflex® is an excellent option.

Heat, humidity, and rainfall accelerate asphalt aging. Surface temperatures, soil movement, and drainage patterns all affect how long pavement lasts. Regular sealcoating every 3 to 5 years is the most effective way to protect your investment regardless of local conditions.

Paving costs vary based on project size, surface condition, base preparation required, and accessibility. We do not quote over the phone. Every estimate from Uniform Paving includes a free on-site visit and a written quote with no obligation.

A properly installed asphalt driveway typically lasts 20 to 30 years with routine maintenance. The key variables are base preparation, mix quality, and sealcoating schedule. Sealing every 3 to 5 years is the single most effective way to extend its life.

Spring and fall are ideal for paving. Moderate temperatures allow asphalt to cure properly. We can pave in summer with proper scheduling and always communicate the best window for your specific project.
